Once again Ohio was treated with a great Mansfield Bottle Show and Sale. Co-chairman Louis Fifer and Matt Lacy made us all proud. Sales tables were up with many offerings. Please read Jim Benders article on Mansfield on the FOHBC website with many Mansfield pictures. Jim Bender is Co-chairman of the FOHBC National in Springfield, MA. Many OBC members will be attending that show. Don’t forget the FOHBC National for 2018 is in Cleveland.
The American Glass Gallery’s Spring 2017 Auction is now open for bidding. Take the time to check out #10, “LOUIS KOSSUTH” / BUST OF KOSSUTH – STEAM FRIGATE / “U.S. STEAM FRIGATE / MISSISSIPPI / S. HUFFSEY” Historical Calabash, probably Milford Glass Works, Milford, NJ, 1852 – 1860. Dark olive green and #170, “MASON’S / PATENT / NOV. 30TH / 1858”, Clayton Bros Glass Works, Clayton, NJ, 1880 – 1995. Medium to deep cobalt blue. Both are exceptional examples. It has finally arrived, the Mansfield Bottle Show and Sale. Friday opens the show with dealer set up and early admission from 3 to 6 pm. The famous Mansfield dinner follows at 6 pm with lots of friends dining together and sharing stories. Saturday is regular admission starting at 9 am. Don’t miss the opportunity.
Mr. Dependable (Bill Koster) at the gatehouse had an accident and we need help for Saturday to replace all the hours that Bill volunteered. Please call or email Matt if you can help. See Matt’s contact information under the Officers Page. I’m sure a get well card for Bill would be appreciated. See “Read More” for Bill’s address
