The Washington Spring bottle from Ballston Spa, N.Y., with the pictorial George Washington embossing, is an exciting and historically significant bottle cherished by collectors as Washington actually visited the region and the springs. See in the FOHBC Virtual Museum Spring & Mineral Water Gallery. The bottle is an image donation from Ohio Bottle Club member Dave Merker. Click on the “Read More” for a link to the historical notes.

It is with a great sadness that the OBC announces the passing of a Charter Member, Alan Easterday. Alan was 83. Bill Koster shared a brief history with both of them working at PPG in the early 1960’s. They started as coin collectors and graduated to crocks and bottles. Their first dig was on PPG property off Eastern Rd. They found some hutches, Warner Safe Cures and a nice fruit jar. They later found the Ohio Bottle Club in 1969. Swirl running late!
The OBC “Swirl” was mailed on the morning of December 7th. Things are running very slow, Roger Hardesty got his Wednesday December 16th. He lives 10 miles from me. Please use the attached envelope to mail your 2021 dues.
Since my original Post, I email a few members to see when the Swirl was post marked, Dec. 11th and 12th. How is it that a first class Swirl can be dropped off on Dec. 7th and post marked 4 days later? Going to visit the Post Office tomorrow to find out.
P.S. the OBC is looking for a new President and Swirl editor.
