Poisons
Beginning in the mid 1800’s, poisonous substances came onto the market to control plants and vermin, and as surface cleaners. To prevent mishaps, poison bottles were given distinctive features, which today make them fun to collect. Colors like cobalt blue, inky black, and dark green ensured they were easily recognizable.
Eyewash Cups
The Ohio Glass Museum in Lancaster, Ohio is now displaying a portion of Lois Ford’s eyecup collection in their current exhibition until March 8th. Lois, and her husband Doc, were longtime members of the Ohio Bottle Club.
Dick Watson Passes
Legendary bottle man and Force Majeure passes…. Richard Watson, FOHBC Historian for the past 23 years, is a Federation Life Member and was elected to the FOHBC Hall Of Fame in 1968.

North American Glass auction is open for bidding with 352 fruit jars, 19 flasks, 21 advertising stoneware, 46 medicines and more. Closing date is December 11th.
Good Hope – Happy Thanksgiving to all

I returned from the Pittsburgh Show with flyers and contracts from Willmington 2015 on Sunday March 22, 2015 and Washington PA Sunday May 17, 2015. It looks to be a very active bottle show season for Ohio, check out the Bottle Shows page. Also check out the Top Pole Discoveries Auction due to begin
2 Ohio Shows added
I have added 2 show to the list of spring bottle shows in the state of Ohio. In addition to Joe Hardin’s new Willmington Show and the Mansfield Show, the Central Ohio Bottle Club has decided to fill the void in Columbus with a Columbus Bottle Show on Feb 8, 2015. The Ohio Valley Bottle Club will have their show in St. Clairsville on April 11, 2015. Plan to support all 4 shows.
Columbus Show 2015 News
I wanted to announce some exciting show news for 2015. Jamie and I will be moving our Columbus show to the Roberts Centre in Wilmington in 2015. Show date is Sunday March 22. Contracts will be sent out soon. The Roberts Centre was the location for the 2010 FOHBC National show that featured nearly 300 tables.
