The sold out Pittsburgh Bottle Show and Sale was once again a nice show with an excellent assortment of bottles and tabletop antiques. The hospitality on Saturday night for the dealers and workers was great with an Italian sausage/macaroni pasta and shrimp cocktail highlighting a great variety of offerings. After a hearty meal, I always save enough room for a piece of banana cream pie. Set up was early on Sunday and there were plenty of bottles for the every collector. The display this year was awe inspiring Pittsburgh stoneware. Click on the “Read More” to see the pictures.

National Bottle Museum
Rick and Berny Baldwin recently shared their visit to the National Bottle Museum. The National Bottle Museum is located in Ballston Spa, NY, which is a short drive from Albany and situated in Saratoga County’s historic mineral water springs domain that flourished in the 1800’s. Exhibits at the museum focus on the museum’s mission of preserving the history of hand-made bottle-making in the United States. In addition to interpretive exhibits, which frequently change in theme and content, the museum houses a large collection of vintage bottles for the public to view and enjoy. An extensive library is also available for reference and research. Click on the “Read More” for more information and pictures.
