Greetings fellow Ohio Bottle Club members! Spring is arriving and Mansfield weekend will be upon us before we know it. Months of planning and preparing will come to fruition as we gather …
Mark your calendars for May 9, 2026. You don’t want to miss the 47th annual Mansfield Antique Bottle Show. Dealer setup and early admission on May 8th.
FOHBC “It is with a heavy heart that we learned of the passing of Jeff Wichmann a few days ago. Jeff was a fantastic supporter of the Federation and the Virtual Museum. Jeff was also a life member as well as a member of the Hall of Fame. He also served on the Board of Directors for several years. Jeff’s American Bottle Auctions was always a welcome place to purchase quality bottles. Jeff’s book “The Best of the West-Antique Western Bitter Bottles is a valuable addition for any collector of that genre. His vast knowledge will be missed as will his friendship and continued support of the Federation and all bottle collectors in general.”
Joe Coulson, “We are very sad to report the loss of another precious club member. I was informed yesterday evening while traveling about the passing of our dear friend and long-time club supporter Marty Troxell. Marty was a wise businessman and collector. Early on he knew the jar hobby needed to embrace social media to connect with more people and broaden our horizon. He was instrumental in creating and running the Ball Jar Collectors group on Facebook, and he was the pioneer behind our club’s Facebook group here as well (Midwest Antique Fruit Jar & Bottle Club). Marty also actively participated and supported our club’s online virtual meetings which started a few months ago.”
Rick Baldwin shared, “I don’t know how many of our OBC members actually knew Danielle Kreeger, who actively pursued bottle digging, researching and dealing online, at Shupp’s Grove, at the Baltimore Bottle show and others. Having a PhD, her life was so filled with career-focused pursuits, etc., one would wonder how she allocated significant time to pursue her bottle hobby. She was even an active surfer!”
The Ohio Bottle Club would like to wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year. Sorry for the late post.
It is with great sadness that the OBC received news that Joe Hardin has passed. Our prayers to Shari and the family. Joe was an ambassador to the bottle hobby and a dear friend to many. He will be missed. RIP Joe!
