The Museum of American Glass in West Virginia
Looking for something to do? You might consider visiting the Museum of American Glass located at 230 Main Ave. Weston, WV. With over 15,000 objects on display featuring dozens of American manufacturers from 1860 to present, the museum has a special focus on 1900 to 1960 when American handmade glass boomed. Membership Drive
The Ohio Bottle Club has started a membership drive with the goal of reaching 200 members. We are currently at 192 families. As a member you will receive the our Award winning
newsletter, the “Swirl”, advertise your wants for free, get articles published, join us & fully participate in our monthly meetings, enjoy all our activities including two shows and three outings to Hartville. Be part of the group that plans and works the FOHBC National in Cleveland for the summer of 2018. All this for only $15 a year. Send your contact information for a free copy of the “Swirl” or fill out the membership application to join now. You $15 makes you a member through 2017.
Displays at Richfield
Once again, the display room at the Richfield Show and Sale was awesome. Matt Lacy had the double Eagles, Louis Fifer had Pikes Peak Historical flasks, Dave Grove had million year old petrified wood, Dennis Huey had the Cleveland sodas, mineral waters, and beers, and John Fifer had the Ohio free blown and pattern molded pans. Most Educational award went to Louis Fifer and Best display went to Dennis Huey. Click on the “Read More” for all the pictures.
Richfield Bottle Show & Sale 2016
I arrived early around 6:20 AM and to my surprise the sales room was already a flurry of activity. Dealers carting in boxes for under their tables in anticipation of the 7:30 starting time. Ready, set, go signaled the start of another Richfield Show. A good crowd seemed in a buying mood with almost everyone carrying a bag. At noon, in what has become a tradition, the OBC set up a luncheon for the dealers with the leftovers from the Saturday evening hospitality room (Thanks to Lindsay Stoneman, Elizabeth Lacy, Phyllis Koch and Elaine DeMaison for hosting the luncheon). Richfield Hospitality 2016
The Ohio Bottle Club’s 2016 Richfield Show and Sale kicked off with a spectacular hospitality room on Saturday night. The feast started early as guests fill the room eager for all the home cooking that the OBC has become famous. When it was all done, the OBC feed a record number of bottle guests, at least 55 ate their fill. Featured dishes included Adam & Phyllis Koch Koch pulled pork, Louis Fifer broccoli -chedder soup, Robert Kreiling BBQ ribs & fruit, Elaine DeMaison baked beans with sausage, Elizabeth Lacy pulled beef, pasta salad, mashed potatoes, & apple salad, Jim & Dianna Cady salads, Terry Crislip salad, Bo & Twinkle Sullivan pulled chicken, Bruce Drollinger pies, Lindsay Stoneman assorted desserts, Marlene Franchino Fava salad, Jim Tyson, and John & Louis Fifer for furnishing the munchies, pop & table settings. Richfield Bottle Show
The Richfield Bottle Show and Sale is tomorrow. Early admission is at 7:30 AM on Sunday followed by the show from 9 AM to 2 PM. Join the OBC for the hospitality room tonight at 6:30, great food. Make it a bottle weekend by staying at the Days Inn & Suites, join us for the hospitality room Saturday evening and the show on Sunday.
