The weather was mild and the sales were brisk at the 47th Annual Columbus Bottle Show held at the Doubletree Inn on Sunday, February 12th. This year’s Show was the largest since it was moved to the Doubletree from the Ohio State Fairgrounds in 2015. 40 dealers rented 62 tables and there were 5 tables displaying Columbus and Central Ohio bottles and related items. We had 30 for our Saturday night dealer appreciation buffet dinner. Paid attendance was 228. Co-Chairs Clark Wideman and Rojer Moody expressed great satisfaction with the Show generally and with the very strong participation of members of both the Ohio Bottle Club and the Findlay Bottle Club. What a great way to open the bottle season in Ohio. See “Read More” for more pictures.

Muncie, a fruit jar collectors dream come true
Braving unpredictable weather each year is a dedicated group of Fruit Jar collectors and Jelly Jammers in early January. Collectors from all over the country arrive early at the host hotel to kick off four days of room hopping. This year, those arriving early faced dangerous road conditions while late arrivals where met with single digit temperatures. Once in the hotel, the weather was no factor in all fun and hundreds if not thousands of fruit jars greeted those hardy collectors. Shades of amber Globes, Lightnings, and 1858’s among all the quality aqua fruit jars made for interesting browsing. New collectors with unbounded enthusiasm made the event even more exciting.
Merry Christmas
OBC Library
After years of service as Librarian Marvin King has decided that lugging all those boxes of library books to each meeting is just too much. David Keding has agreed to be our next Librarian with a few changes.
David will only bring 5 books for each meeting along with any that have been requested. We will highlight those books to inform the membership. The hope is that with more knowledge of what is available; more members will take advantage of the service. A complete list of books is available.
Happy Thanksgiving
