Pittsburgh 2018

Members of the Ohio bottle Club attended a sold out Pittsburgh Bottle Show and Sale this last weekend. Saturday night, dealers could unload their bottles and enjoy a great hospitality. Fried chicken, sandwiches, peel & eat shrimp, goulash with a spicy sausage, and pies to die for greeted 60 dealers. Sunday was the show and a nice crowd attended. The Pittsburgh bottle club put together an impressive display of Pittsburgh bottles and stoneware in shades of yellow. See “Read More” for pictures of OBC members and the display.

Expanding the Website

Over the years, many great articles have been written for the Swirl. We need a small army of dedicated computer savvy members to scan the articles. Those articles need to be preserved and available to Ohio collectors on the website. I can be part of the army, but I am not going to be the army. I need help. With a club of almost 200, seems like there should be plenty of volunteers. See me at the meeting or email me. Contact information in the “Read More”.

On a second note, we need pictures of great Ohio Bottles for a Great Ohio Bottles page on our website. You can send me pictures and a brief history. See contact information below in the “Read More”. We can add the bottles to different pages by categories.

OBC’s Golden Anniversary

The Ohio Bottle Club turns 50 in 2019 and going strong for another 50. We should mark the occasion with some sort of celebration. Seems to me that Mansfield or the summer picnic or both would be proper venues for at least a celebratory cake with 50 candles. I envision our 200+ dinner guests on Friday evening sharing our celebration and Bill Koster cutting the cake. Could we put together an OBC display on the stage? Please share your comments at the November meeting or send me your comments by filling out the Contact Us by clicking on “Read More”.
