Great Ohio Bitters
American Life Bitters
On display is one of the great figural cabin bitters that has a curved roof rather than an angular roof like most cabin bitters. The American Life Bitters is pretty tough to obtain in either the Tiffin, Ohio, or Omaha, Nebraska variants. Our Tiffin, Ohio museum example is one of a few examples. Link to the history at FOHBC Virtual Museum.
Dick Moser’s Passing
It is with great sadness that the OBC announces the passing of another member, Dick Moser. Richard was a member of the Knights Car Club in Orrville as well as many other local car clubs. Was also a member of the Ohio Bottle Club. He enjoyed working on cars, as well as, collecting classic cars especially Studebaker’s. He had a large beer can collection, and enjoyed going fishing, water skiing, and spending time with his family and friends. Dick was a familiar face at our monthly meeting. Washington Spring Mineral Water Bottle
The Washington Spring bottle from Ballston Spa, N.Y., with the pictorial George Washington embossing, is an exciting and historically significant bottle cherished by collectors as Washington actually visited the region and the springs. See in the FOHBC Virtual Museum Spring & Mineral Water Gallery. The bottle is an image donation from Ohio Bottle Club member Dave Merker. Click on the “Read More” for a link to the historical notes.
Kent, Ohio Molded Bowl
This beautiful Kent 20-Rib Pattern Molded Bowl in green aquamarine reminds me of “Altoids Wintergreen Mint.” Recently added to the 3rd floor FOHBC Virtual Museum Free Blown & Pattern Molded Gallery – Tableware Room. We are back
The Ohio Bottle Club officially opened for business. The May 27th meeting was attended by 20 members at the Eagles in Wadsworth. The highlights included 8 members contributing in a “Show and Tell” and a very active business meeting. Next month we are planning a program, our very popular “Best of” returns, and a refreshment break (banana splits). Plan to attend. Click on “Read More” for pictures.
