“Share your Treasurers” was the theme for the September meeting. Many members brought Treasures that they obtained this summer. The meeting was well attended. The October meeting will feature Soyer Perfect Sauce from Meadville, PA and of course our traditional cider and donuts. Click on the “Read More” to see all the pictures.

Richfield 2015
The 2015 Richfield Bottle Show and sale is now part of bottle history. A packed house of dealers, early admission, displayers and attendees made this a great show. The OBC treated guests on Saturday night with pulled pork and beef with home made soup and a dessert table fit for a king. The weekend excitement continued to build with dealers arriving early Sunday morning to set up. The quality of the bottles was outstanding with a great variety of rare and colorful examples. Congratulations to Matt Lacy and Louis Fifer on all their planning. Dave Grove won for the Most Educational display and also for the People’s Choice for the best display. Plan to attend next year. See all the pictures.
September meeting
This month’s program is “Share your Treasures from the Summer” month. Everyone should have something to share. We will set up tables at the front for your “Treasurers”.
This has been a very active two months of bottle collecting for the OBC members. Many attended the National Show in Chattanooga, Hartville became a reality, an interesting bottle auction in Cleveland attended by many and of course Richfield. Matt Lacy has just released the latest Mansfield show flyer. We have a group working to bring the FOHBC National to Ohio in 2018. Lots to be excited about.

The excitement builds as the Richfield Show and Sales is only a week away. The festivities start on Saturday Sept. 12th with the Hospitality room at 6:30. Pulled pork sandwiches and Louis Fifer’s famous soup highlight a great meal. The show opens at 7:30 with early admission on Sunday with regular admission at 9 am. Plan to attend. It is still not too late to get a table. Contracts.
Hartville
I left the house at 5:45 am with probably 8 or 9 boxes of junk bottles. I was hoping to sell a few things and have some great conversation with bottle friends. I expected to meet up with a group that was already at the flea market, but to my surprise, I saw no one from the club. Not to be discouraged, I started to walk the grounds and from far off I recognized Marvin King. We both looked lost, searching for familiar faces in the crowd.
Chattanooga 2015
The Ohio Bottle Club was well represented at the FOHBC National held in Chattanooga the first weekend in August 2015. The weekend was filled with bottles, conversation with bottle friends and great eating adventures. The City Cafe Diner with a great selection of desserts was the talk of the show for the Ohio group. See all the pictures from the show.
Chattanooga Awards
The Ohio Bottle Club did very well at the FOHBC National banquet held this last weekend in Chattanooga. Phyllis and Adam Koch received first place in the Best Newsletter contest, Jack Sullivan received first place in the Best Research Article category, Alan DeMaison received first place in the Best Website contest, and Louis Fifer and Matt Lacy received a second place in the Best Flyer/Poster contest with the Richfield flyer.
July Meeting
The July meeting will begin with a picnic. Fried chicken will be furnished by the club. Members need to bring a covered dish to share. Remember, the FOHBC National Show is in Chattanooga August 1st and 2nd. Many OBC members will be in attendance. It is not too late to make plans for Richfield. Plan to display or set up as a dealer.
June Meeting, “Color is King”
The June meeting of the Ohio Bottle Club is scheduled for June 25th. The program will feature “Color is King”. Bring in your most colorful items to share with the members. It should be an exciting program with many rare and colorful bottles. Refreshments will be banana splits. As always, everyone is welcome.
