Mansfield (part 2)
Mansfield 2015
The weather was great for the 37th annual Mansfield Bottle Show. The dealers and early admissions enjoyed a great (but late) meal on Friday night. A fatal crash on 71 South closed the freeway for 5 hours with our caterers caught in the mess. About 200 braved the delay and shared the company of friends.
Don Burkett passes
Legendary fruit jar collector and dealer Don Burkett has passed. Don was a frequent dealer at Mansfield and Lakeland. Author and fruit jar collector Bruce Schank has published another one of his well-written and photographed collector profiles: it’s none other than beloved “Mr. Mason” himself, Don Burkett. Read Bruce Schank’s article “Legends of the Jar!” about Don’s story. See the Findlay Bottle Club Tribute. Also keep in mind Adam Koch on the passing of his brother, Craig Lane on the passing of his wife and Gene Jenkins on the passing of his daughter.

Mansfield 2015 is just around the corner with less than 3 weeks to go until show time. We are well over the 200 table mark with contracts and phone calls pouring in daily for both tables and early admission. This promises to be a great show with many new dealers setting up for the first time. You won’t want to miss this one. Best Regards, Matt Lacy Mansfield 2015 show chairman. Contract. March Meeting
Thanks for all those that contributed at the February meeting with their “Presidential” items. It was amazing the variety of collectibles. This month is “Anything But Bottles”. We need participants to share their collections. I purchased the SVGA projector. I have had some interest in members donating to cover the cost. Any donation would be appreciated. My plans are to use the projector at each meeting starting with March. Mansfield is coming

Green for St. Patrick’s Day
Thought a few green bottles and some vintage postcards would be appropriate for St. Patrick’s Day. The pink Victorian Christmas light is a rare Irish light that has a shamrock motif on it. Remember Wilmington on Sunday March 22nd at the Roberts Centre. It will begin the bottle season in Ohio. Mark your calenders for Mansfield, Saturday May 9th. This looks to be an exciting year for bottle collectors.
