One of our very own club members(Ohio Bottle Club) was filmed for an upcoming HGTV special on “The Revolutionary War On The Tuscarawas – Fort Laurens Encampment”. Todd Knisley joined OBC members at the Hartville Flea market on Saturday July 9th to participate in the club membership drive. He stayed until a little after Noon and then packed up to join the 8th Pennsylvania Regiment which is part of the Brigade of the American Revolution, in Bolivar. The 8th Pennsylvania is a group of American Revolutionary War reenactors who meet to give impressions of 18th century military life. Todd was invited to participate in a reenactment at Fort Laurens in Bolivar Ohio. Todd was honored as being the only non-regimental member invited to be in attendance at the two-day event. As seen in the photos, Todd took Revolution era bottles that spanned from the French & Indian War, the American Revolutionary War, and the War of 1812, to not only show what items of the reenactment period would have looked like, but to show the transition before and after the period.

OBC at Shupp’s Grove 2016
Unfortunately I missed Friday which was dealer setup and early admission, but there was still plenty to see and handle on Saturday morning. Dealers rent spaces with tables and many times there are 2 and 3 tables on each space. Many Ohio Bottle Club members made the trip and with were pleased with their purchases. Should be a great “Best of” with all the great bottles. It is like a quality bottle show in a forest. I did find a rare Meadville Rye Whiskey advertising tin sign, it didn’t go home with me because I already have it in an original frame. See all the OBC members and friends by clicking on “Read More”.

Mansfield Saturday pictures
“Now that the “dust” has settled, I just want to give a big THANK YOU to the Ohio Bottle Club for putting on such a wonderful show this past weekend in Mansfield. Matt Lacy and Louis Fifer, the co chairs of the show, did a wonderful job along with all the other members of the club making you feel “right at home” with their hospitality. It proved to be well worth the effort to attend as everything was done professionally with many good buying and selling opportunities for all. It was great to finally meet some Facebook friends in person. Without doubt, it is the best show in the Midwest. Mark your calendar for next year…you won’t want to miss it!” Mark Vuono from facebook.
